Wilga for FS9 by Joe Binka and Bruce Thorson included in this package are: Stock Wilga- FLoat Wilga- Amphib Wilga- Tundra Wilga- Tow Truck Wilga- beta All of these are of the 3 seat variety and have an extra gas tank where the 4th seat was. ~~artistic liberty~~ Sometimes you have to fake it a little in FS. I try to capture the FEEL of an aircraft more than just raw numbers. In FS, numbers are like your brother in law... they lie. so with that out of the way here's what I have included so far. 1. Gmax all the way! 2. Exterior Poly Count= 20,000 but that is misleading, while 20k is not a lot when the mesh is clean and properly modeled. 20k on a sloppy mesh may criple some systems. Im very proud of the detail I achieved with so few polys. 3. VC Poly Count= 4,500 how bout that eh? only 4500.. my best yet, but i cheated... no wings or other objects not normally visible from the chair. 4. Texture Maps, Well, went a little overboard here just wanted to provide enough detail for better paintwork. Yeah, my 2d art lacks, but in my defense I did paint this about 6 months ago. Say what you want, but you better upload something killer for me! 5. NO 2D PANEL!! and i dont want one. This was designed around the VC, i used a lot things that are new to me in FS design. Gauges: I did the artwork, but the real magic is in the XML that Bruce wrote to drive those needles. I will never go back to a 2d gauge again. 3d gauges have a few quirks but the resulting smoothness is an easy trade. I should say that Bruce came up with some really great stuff in a short span of time. The few bugs I know about are mine, and given time Im sure they will be ironed out. 6. Dynamic Passengers: This was my dream, but thanks to Bruce again for making it a reality. Inside FS you can define the weight the aircraft is carring in the payload editor. Many of you should be familar with it. Each station represents a seat on the plane, or a cargo hold. In this case if you add weight/passenger in the payload editor you can see them appear inside the plane. I think it's cool. Just a word about my passengers... badabing! sorry if you're easily offended by it, well, not really. 7. AIRFILES: ahhh the black arts... like it or make it better, i built them from scratch with the numbers i had. Then i tweaked them for fun. Pretty close on all, but im no rocket surgeon. 8. Virtual Cockpit: Radios, i copied the original PZL radios, but made one an ADF and the other an ATC COMM. Use the number pad to call up and interact with the FS ATC. pretty basic There is a spot for 2d guages, I didnt include my clock and carb temp gauges, cuz they werent mine. I got them from an AN2 I downloaded, and couldnt find the author... so theyre in the panel.cfg, but you'll have to find them or add your own. Switches, man there's a lot of switches.. most of them work and control what theyre supposed to. flaps handle is above your head. I still feel like there's a lot i want to do in here, but 1 year is about enough dont ya think. she's got just about all i could think of, and then a few more. The Tow Truck wilga is still in development, so consider it a Beta. Use the SPOILER KEY to cut the plane loose.. Thanks: Bruce Thorson: I really enjoyed working with a class act like him, he's always very professional. He did all the XML to drive all the eyecandy on this plane. I really cant wait to work with him again. Any bugs you find, are the result of either me, gmax, or makeMDL or any combination of the 3. What complicates matters is I know Gmax, Bruce knows XML, these gauges require you to know BOTH. With this style of gauge design being so new, it was a definite STEEP learning curve for me. Thanks for the lessons Bruce! Roger Law: What can I say about Roger, well if you like this plane thank him, if you dont his home phone # is .. just kidding. Roger's a really great guy, and the reason i am releasing this plane at all. I had it stuck on my HD and moved on to other planes until he kindly asked about it. Made me realize somethings about this hobby... for every dirtbag pirate warez jerk, there's a Roger to take their place. Thanks for everything you do for FS Kevin Lemanski: A very forward thinking maxer. while our tastes may differ we share a common goal.. perfection. Keep it up buddy. TOH,SOH,BFU you guys are all like family to me. Thanks for all the encouragement. enjoy!
