Thank you for downloading Vlad's Water Environment (VWE) v2.3!


The textures in this package are created 100% from scratch. They are based on Timest's AquaPro 2006 textures.

I believe that these textures add a much more realistic look over FS2004's default textures, but it's up to you to decide.

These textures were designed for DirectX 8.1 or higher video cards (you have to be able to set 'Water effects' to 'High' in the FS2004 Display settings)

The size of each texture is 1.00MB, which is 25% less than the size of the default textures (1.33MB each), so it should give you some FPS gains.


**PRIOR TO INSTALLATION: MAKE SURE TO INSTALL THESE TEXTURES OVER DEFAULT WATER SCENERY, OR THEY MAY (not necessarily) LOOK WEIRD IN-GAME**
**THIS MEANS THAT ALL THE '0**b2wa1.bmp' AND 'water_detail**.bmp' TEXTURES SHOULD BE DEFAULT!**


INSTALLATION:

- Make a backup of the 11 'env...bmp' textures located in your 'Flight Simulator 9/Scenery/World/Texture' folder.

- Make a backup of 'OceanHeightField.bmp' located in your 'Flight Simulator 9/Texture' folder.

- Extract the 'Scenery' and 'Texture' folders to your 'Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator 9' folder and replace.

- Enjoy!


These textures should look great with any 'OceanHeightField.bmp' wave texture, so try out your favorite!
