FS2004 Mil MI-24V Hind E Deadly looking, and just as lethal, the Mil MI-24 series of Helicopter Gunships are perfect Cold War images of the Soviet concept of a "Flying APC" Armed with AT Missles, Rockets and Cannon, and capable of transporting 8 Troops in its cabin. Caused much concern in the West, where there was no counterpart, and given the NATO code-name "Hind" MI-24's were first built with conventional flightdeck-type cabin,as the MI-24A, then redesigned with the stepped, armored cockpits for pilot and weapons systems operator (wso), as the MI-24D. Later improvements resulted in the V, VP, P, and Recon versions. Was, and still, in service with over 20 nations. Installation: 1)After downloading the zip, locate it, and extract the file to a temp folder. 2)Copy Folder MI-24V to your FS2004 Aircraft Folder 3)Everything should be in the right place and subfolder. 4)If present, copy any gauges into your FS2004 Gauges Folder. You may already have some of them, so you don't have to overwrite or reload them. Choice is yours. 5) Copy the fx_vc_light_yellow file over to your FS2004 effects folder 6) VERY IMPORTANT! Copy the mi24v_glass, mi24v_rotor,and mi24v_t_rotor, and mi24v_aircrew textures from the base texture folder over to the texture.un, and texture.ddr, folders. I do this way to cut down on download file size. 7) If you have any problems, look at the Folder of a plane you know that works in your Sim. See how it is made and arranged. BEFORE YOU FLY!....... Copy the GaugeSound.dll file into your FS Main Folder. Easygauge 2.0, what I used to make gau's, says this file is needed. If you already have one of my later planes, you most likely have this file already installed. Installation is only required once. SIM WILL CRASH IF NOT INSTALLED! NOTAMS As this is my first FS helicopter based on the default Bell 206 helo-turbine airfile, I have no idea whether the flight model is any good. I first tried to use real-world numbers, but the result was totaly unflyable!:-( The airfile is pretty much Bell 206, but least it's flyable. Any improvements will be welcome! Key Commands-- (based on default mapping) SHF e = pilot's and wso's canopy doors SHF e 2 = cabin doors CTL h = LLLTV/FLIR pod doors Technically, the UN version is supposed to be a MI-24K" Hind G2", with different cabin door/window configuration, but I was too lazy to make a separate model for just one version. Oh well... Some new paint schemes, and a repaint kit, should follow very soon This aircraft was tested in FS2004 Flight Model set to about 80% HARD Plane Textures set to MASSIVE Screen res set to 1024X768X32 Reflections set to ON Computer: P4 2.8 GHZ 1024 MB RAM ATI 9600 128 MB with 4.6 Cat Drivers TM Cougar HOTAS/CH Pro Pedals Results with your Computer and Sim Settings may vary. Enjoy! This aircraft was built to the best of my skills, knowledge, and simply to my own tastes and standards. If something is "missing", or "wrong", oh well, you got it for a good price:-) For a one-man shop, I think I do pretty well:-p As for repaints, new versions, etc. I have no idea if, when, or what. If you ask, you'll just get an "I don't know" reply :-) These files shouldn't harm your computer, but I accept no responsability for their use and effect. Play with it,do repaints, give to friends or enemies(SEE BELOW), but do not make money off of it without my express approval. This also goes for any other peoples' files in this release. Also,if you want to re-post the plane, or its repaints, on your site, or another site, please ask me first:) I usually say yes, unless my plane been too corrupted or hacked by you or others. MAKE SURE YOU READ AND ABIDE BY THIS, FSPLANET.COM!!! I only upload to Flightsim.com, and Sim-Outhouse.com., and sometimes AVSIM.com If you find one of my planes anywhere else, I cannot guarantee its integrity. Whoever re-posted the plane might be better able to help you if you have any trouble, if he did any mods and left an e=mail addy I have nothing against other sites, I just want to keep things simple, and easy to track.
