FSChatter Live ATC Version 1.65 =============================== New Installation: ================= The default installation directory is "C:\Program Files\FSChatter Live". To begin the installation, unzip the FSCLive165.zip file and run the installation program Install_FSChatter Live.exe. Follow the screen prompts and accept (or change) the default installation directory. The program will be installed and added to the Windows "Start" menu, and a shortcut will be created on the Windows Desktop. FSChatter Live ATC requires the current version of Peter Dowson's FSUIPC for Flight Simulator. FSX requires Version 4.0 or higher, FS2004 requires Version 3.0 or higher. The FSUIPC Module allows FSChatter to communicate with your Flight Simulator. You will also need to have the VB6 runtime files installed on your computer. Most of you already have them. If not, they are available from FlightSim (www.flightsim.com) in the "Must Have" file section, or directly from Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com:80/support/kb/articles/q235/4/20.asp). If you are not sure, then try to install and run FS Flight Calculator and if all is well, then you don't need the VB6 runtime files. If the program "complains", then download and install the VB6 runtime files. The program can be un-installed by selecting "Uninstall FSChatter Live" from the Start menu, or by selecting "FSChatter Live" from the Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel. Upgrading Previous Versions =========================== If you have added any new ATC chatter, radio or wave files you should back up your existing Live_ATC_Feeds.txt file before starting an upgrade. To find its location, start up FSChatter Live then click on the "Help" Menu, then "About" and then click on the Canadian flag. This will display a popup window. Copy down the Data Path, this is where the Live_ATC_Feeds.txt file is stored. Make a backup copy by renaming the existing file to Live_ATC_Feeds.bak. Next uninstall the existing version of FSChatter Live and then install the new version. Finally, replace the newly installed Live_ATC_Feeds.txt file with your backup copy.
