AIRBUS A380 Panel Update for FS9 Compiled by Alex Christoff Updated January 2005 Thermobulb@aol.com //--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BACK UP ALL YOUR ORIGINAL FILES / GAUGES FIRST! //--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT: THIS PANEL REQUIRES THAT YOU HAVE THE DEFAULT FS2000 CONCORDE.GAU GAUGES INSTALLED IN YOUR FS9 GAUGES FOLDER. YOU CAN GET THE REQUIRED GAUGES HERE: http://pages.infinit.net/camsim/promax380.htm IMPORTANT: To avoid software compatability errors when starting FS9, use NOTEPAD or similar text editor to open the make sure you have the following Section in your FS2004.cfg file [OldModules] FSSound.dll=1 Q) Where is the configuration file now located? A) It will be located in your personal Application Data folder. On Windows 2000/XP systems, this is located in \Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9\FS9.cfg (for Windows 9x users the path is \Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9\fs9.cfg). The Application Data folder is hidden, so you will need to enable viewing of hidden files/folders under the Folder Options in your Explorer //---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To install do the following: //---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unzip the PANEL.zip file into the PANEL folder of the aircraft you want to use the panel Unzip the GAUGES.zip into a temporary folder then copy and paste the .gau files into the main FS9 directory \ GAUGES folder IMPORTANT: Overwrite only OLDER gauge files than those provided here Unzip the SOUND.zip into a temporary folder then copy and paste the .wav files into the main FS9 directory \ SOUNDS folder IMPORTANT: Overwrite only OLDER SOUND files than those provided here Copy the .txt files from the EXTRAS folder into the Main FS9 Folder //---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note that there is no "UP" bitmap for the UP view selection - I could not find a decent photo to use for this. Feel free to substitute one of your own, but if you do, post it for everyone else to share! That should be it. Just load up FS9 and ENJOY! //---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: I use this panel frequently in my 1 GHz, 640 MB, GeForce FX 5600 128MB PC and find it to be very intuitive, stable, and frame-rate friendly. However, I assume no responsibity for lockups, crashes, software loiading errors or other computer anomalies or damage. Use at your own risk!!!! Should there exist missing gauge or sound files as a result of my error, please do not hesitate to E-mail me with the problem - I'll do everything I can to remedy it. Enjoy! //---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Credits: Default FS9 gauges: -Microsoft Original Panel Bitmaps: -A. Asensio. No E-mail available.
