Description
Mackinac Island, Michigan, located in Lake Huron east of the Mackinac bridge, is a historic and popular tourist destination. The only way to get here is by air, landing at the island's single runway airport, or by ferry. The island does not allow cars, and the mode of transportation here is horse & buggy or bicycle! This island was the setting for Christopher Reeve's movie, "Somewhere in Time." This scenery includes geodetic correction to the island, Round Island and Mackinac Island Lighthouses, Arnold's dock, Fort Mackinac, downtown buildings, and of course The Grand Hotel. Special effects are utilized including night time light reflection from the dock obstruction lights, and the rotating light beams on the lighthouses.
