I'm thrilled that Chris has given approval now to let out of the bag that we are doing BRAND NEW water for FEX.

We have changed the shader, the OHF bump maps and coral textures.

Thanks Rich :-) it's basically just as an update at the moment. We will do a complete build for Flight1 in the coming days so rather than updating FEX 1.0.3.0 to FEX 1.0.4.2 then now to FEX 1.0.5.5 it will mean just one download and one installation.

Thanks Chris, those last shots are even better, great job, can't wait, will this work with REX or do we have to choose between the two, thank you.

Regards, Rich

You have to make a choice Rich. We are offering a 30 day money back if you try and don't like it.

Thanks Edric,

We've been holding back a lot of shots such as new water. We are so pleased people like it and I trust now people can see this update is much more than just clouds.

Beautiful NATURAL looking water - I find 80% of the flying I do is around the British coastline, so this 'floats-my-boat' almost as much as the sky and terrain environment.

This looks fantastic, Peter: thanks for the screenshots. I, like Leadballoon, do most of my FSX flying around the British coast, so this will transform my channel hops! Looks like this will be well and truly worth the wait.

Follow the links. The update is now out.

The water elements will be added next week with luck.

Glad to hear it guys. I love flying over water myself. It's one of the big wow factors to me.

A couple more shots from a more recent shader and wave we are working on. You should get this in another update within the next few days. I should point out that these shots are of shaders and maps still being tested and developed. I made 20 odd wave maps in the past few hours so it's not hard work to make these. If there is anything you don't like it's going to be very easy for us to give you a lot of choice and control things like reflections and how much of a shine the water has on it.

Some of those last shots look a bit too cling-filmy and shiny for my liking.

Some of the other ones look very natural though -- just not all of them look that realistic IMO.
