When I bought Flight Simulator X, I assumed the correct installation location was C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games. Since I wanted learn how to fly small planes, I also bought “Microsoft Flight Simulator X for Pilots! Real World Training" published by Wiley Publishing.  I had problems downloading the flights for this book,  so Wiley sent me a CD with these FSX files.  I copied them to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Flight Simulator X Files\FSX Files.

I'm not able to access the Wiley flights from the Free Flight window.  I can access the FSX flights listed.  When I go to the folder with both types of flights, they are all there,  the Wiley flights first and the FSX flights at the end.

How do I access the Wiley files?

Otmar - Welcome and congrats on buying the book.  Far and away the best thing that has helped my simulation.

If you have an instant messenger (yahoo IM is mine) we can discuss you problem a little more.  I am not exactly sure what issues but I think your problem is that you have not place the files in the correct location.  Refer to Page 7 in the book.  They go in

Documents and Settings / (user name) / My Documents/Flight Simulator X Files

MS FSX For Real World Training

Truly one of the best books for anyone wanting to get a sound, fundamental understanding of many facets of aviation.  The IFR training was great and really steered me in the right direction for additional learning and questioning.  Obviously it can't teach you everything but this is written by CFIs and the layout is great.

$20 bucks for 800 pages of goodness..well worth it.
