Hey guys...

I am in need of some help...

I have been seeing alot of blurries in FSX.  no matter what I do, they won't go away.  I have used the FSX settings tabs, my ATi Catalyst control center settings, I even tried some of Mango's tips and tricks for FSX.  All to no prevail.  I was wanting to know if anyone could help me.

My system's specs are AMD Athlon X64 Dual Core Processor 5200+ @ 2.60 GHz, 4GB of RAM, ATi radeon 4800 HD series, Windows Vista SP2, and FSX SP2

Thanks in advance,

Christian

I was going to post a link, but since you can't seem to wait two hours, I decided not to.

Using the Search function would also save time as you wait for help. :hrmm:

Bit cruel Brandon :hrmm:

I'm thinking it was possibly the NickN tweak guide so I suggest the OP uses the search function to find the link.

I just get annoyed when people repeatedly ask for help in a short amount of time. :hrmm:

Using the search function will reveal a topic I posted not too long ago, asking for help getting rid of the blurries. The help people gave me eliminated my blurries.

I still haven't fixed the problem after searching days for it.  I did a clean install but the problem seems to persist...

Yes I already tried that...it also seems that the textures of the default and even my addon aircraft do the same thing... any suggestions on how to fix that?

Have you set up Anisotropic Filtering from a program like nHancer?

EDIT: Nevermind, nHancer is for NVIDIA cards.

There should be something called the Catalyst Controls for ATI graphics cards. Open it, and see if you can find the FSX profile, and crank up the Anisotropic Filtering, or AF, to x16.

I've had the same problem.

I think we need a "Sticky" in the FSX section that explains how to "Kill Blurries".

Where can I find the FSX profile in Catalyst Control Center?

There is no such thing.

You can open the Catalyst Control Center (CCC) by clicking the button in your system tray, like mine:

If it isn't there, download your card's driver + CCC at http://support.amd.c...ages/index.aspx

When you open up the CCC, you'll see the main window (make sure you choose Advanced mode), and you can adjust the 3D settings in the Graphics menu like so:

Alright I have done that already and I still get blurries that start within half a mile of my airplane... should I use the FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.33 tweak?

Have you considered your computer isn't powerful enough to render non-blurry ground textures? A X64 Dual Core Processor 5200+ @ 2.60 GHz isn't up to snuff with modern FSX rigs, and 4000 series ATI cards are known to have issues with FSX.
