oh boy... there goes brandonf again.. no offense man but no one agrees with you.  the prices are NOT good.  in fsx you have the entire world already and you only have to pay IF YOU WANT an upgrade.  flight YOU HAVE TO PAY to get anything at all.. not the same, not comparable, never will be.  if you bought everything so far your at around $45.... for what?... 1/1000 of what fsx has....

the marketing makes no sense at all.. it's a game obviously for a younger audience.. how are they going to afford all that?  on top of that.. good marketing 101.. if you have a product people are interested in.. underprice it.. and you sell a whole lot more...  and in the long run.. you make way more than overpricing it to begin with.  seems like almost everyone does not understand that these days..   and they wonder why people pirate :hrmm:

i also don't get how people keep saying flight has better flight dynamics???? obviously they've never actually flown a plane.. or even been in one lol. the dynamics are way worse than fsx.. and fsx was pretty bad.    turning the trim tab 1 single notch shouldn't make me pitch up 10+ degrees....   i had set that joystick sensitivity way down to .050000 and everything was still way too sensitive.     and if the flight dynamics are so realistic... then i'll start praying for anyone who ordered the real icon.......   that thing is constantly on the verge of stall and my grandma with her walker have more power...

"No one?" That's a curious statement, considering that he was agreeing with me, and I'm sure as heck not "no one."

Have you managed to complete the "RV-6 Landing Challenge #2" at all? You know, the one where you're challenged to land with a 19knot starboard fwd quarter crosswind?

Or perhaps the "RV-6 Landing Challenge #6" where you're required to hand-fly a full ILS approach and landing in dense fog that's actually well below minimums?

How about aerobatics? Can you complete a full routine within the five minute window and stay within the (invisible) display box?

BTW, for the pitch trim issue, simply remove the <Repeat>32.0000</Repeat> from the standard.xml file for your pitch controls. This will allow it to increment/decrement in 1º steps instead of 4º-6º steps.

I'm wondering, does the Hawaiian Adventure Pack contain more Icon A5 landing challenges? I completed the already existing 3 challenges with gold and I didn't get the achievement.

actually no... i "played" with it for two hours.. then uninstalled it. didn't buy anything.. why would i?   $45 for an additional hour of things to do... no thank you. plus i've already said.. i'm not touching flight. microsofts scam isn't "flying" with me..

where did i say anything about it ils?

and HOW IS IT ACCEPTABLE that you have to go into config files and fiddle around with stuff...  it should either just work in game.. or there should be in-game options.

and i had hard time completing the landing challenges in the free version since the throttle wouldn't go below 20% and i couldn't get rid of my speed..

aslo.. i really didn't like flying around looking at more blurry slow loading textures....  how is that even possible with a ssd?? it's the same 10 textures over and over and they can't load? wth

That's the beauty of Flight. You don't HAVE to, it's just that some people want to.
With FSX on the other hand.....  :hrmm:

well the only reason the avsim forum has so many "flight" followers is because they were warned if their was any negative views posted about "Flight" they would get an account suspension.

Is AVSIM connected with Microsoft in some way? :hrmm:

I think the reason is that they feel there should be at least one community where people can go to discuss Flight without having to read through a bunch of worthless rants.

They are not banning people for posting hate. They are banning if people try to open up the threads about what Microsoft did right and what they did wrong. Those discussions took place months ago. No point in having them now. They are also banning if people get into battles, which happened all too much on their forums a while back before they started enforcing kindness.  B)

I gave this place some time to see if the immature attitude of hate would cool down around here, but apparently not.

Flight has a lot more realism than some people realize. It's not the MSFS we all know and love, but it's a step in the right direction.

I agree. I have to say there is realism, but most of it is hidden because this is an arcade game, not a simulation.

Flight is a chance for them to start fresh, and if the demand is there, eventually open up more to the hard core simmers.

They'd better get a fresh start after mucking up FSX. It's too bad they failed with their "fresh start".

Microsoft has lots more on the way from what it sounds like. (Alaska is the next DLC area)

Lame.

View PostBrandonF, on Mar 17 2012, 07:53 PM, said:

The Maule, Hawaii, and P-51 are priced very well, considering you can get a SINGLE aircraft or airport add-on for FSX for like $30-40. The highly detailed Hawaiian Island pack comes with the IFR capable RV-6A for only about $20. Try finding the same thing for FSX for that price. (and try and get the new fog, water, and shadows, too...yeah, that will happen...)

With FSX/FS9 I have the entire world and some aircraft to go with it, not to mention the plethora of freeware aircraft, sound, scenery, and effect mods. If I want to get more advanced THEN I pay.

The only use I got out of flight was trolling the dumb kids playing it that knew 0 about aviation. :hrmm:

Frankly Flight has the potential, and the engine is killer. They screwed themselves by making this an arcade game with no third party addons. They also screwed themselves by making region DLC's like Hawaii, Alaska, etc. By the time you get done buying the US alone you will have spent a cool grand on it (if they keep selling a single state at a time), which is ridiculous. If somebody wants to fly but doesn't want to purchase the entire country they can get FS9 for $20 or FSX for a bit more money and some time well spent tweaking.
