I flew through all valleys and found nothing.
I found a hint, there are some rocks near the crash site where he is, which differs from normal scenery.
But the first time i didn`t recognized him, because i flew to high.
I can give you a more detailed hint, but it spoils a bit.
Search in these valleys.

When we shipped the Civil Air Patrol SAR mission in FSX we received a lot of feedback that people like the SAR concept but didn't like being led to the crash site and wanted the location of the site to be randomized.
Ask and ye shall receive! In this mission there are 6 crash sites randomly determined during the mission. Where one user finds the crash site may not be where you will find it. They are all in the general area near Stehekin and are in areas that have snow (using default scenery). If you apply good search pattern techniques the aircraft will be easier to find.
If nothing else, this mission should illustrate just how difficult it is to find a crashed aircraft in the wilderness!

that map is excellent
now if somebody can't find him then they should restart the mission just in case he didn't load

You also need to search the valley west of Lucerne, btw.
To find the 'funny looking rock' set parking brake, start engine, switch on pitot heat, etc. and taxi to the nearest point on the runway. Turn left and take off heading for Stehekin State.
Head for Stehekin from Lake Chelan at 4000 feet, overfly the strip and take the first valley on the right ignoring the short cleft valley in the mountain ahead, take the second left valley to the tree/snow line where there are two groups of rocks.
Seven rocks in the left hand group and six smaller rocks in the right hand group.
The Baron, smoke from a fire, and flares should show. If not, you'll need to re-load and start over.
"He should be nearby."
Yep! He just fired the flares! (Sounds like a Lancastrian lassie.)

Has anyone found all seven, or has anyone found more?
(Limited by the dialogue scripts in the sound files, IMO)

I had trouble getting the "Terrain" mode to stick, so you may need to turn it on to see the terrain.

Thank you Dave.
I turned on terrain and it came out crystal clear.
Q. Do you know if FSX is compatible with Windows 8?
