How often do you visit PIK? McGuire's KC-10s are somewhat regular visitors, the spotter you speak of has many other shots of your fleet :D

Haha yea, our charts are all in bound books and have to be re-used, so we cant just take out the page and put it on the yoke :(

We use lots of different callsigns depending on the mission, but yea Reach is definitely one of them, and we spend a lot of time in the Gulf :D

I can't really say how often we visit, but it's a common fuel stop for us!  And some of THE most hospitable people I've seen at any airport we visit.  Yea, I am trying to get him one of our squadron patches since he hooked us up with these pictures.

Here's another video I put together real quick of a local training/currency flight we did a couple nights ago.  Departure and refueling at sunset off our cellmate.

Great video!   I did not know there were three person crew in cockpit of KC-10.  I always thought it was two person crew in cockpit of KC-10.

Yup, and the boom operator sits up there when we're not doing tanker stuff...so for takeoff and landing, it's a 4-person cockpit.

Cool!!!  I know that there is boom operator abroad KC-10 but I never knew that there would be third person on KC-10 cockpit to make it grand total of 4 person cockpit.

So what are exactly responsibilities of the third person (not boom operator) in the cockpit if you are allowed to answer and it is not classified?

Aharon

It is a flight engineer (See the picture in my first post to see his panel).  He manages all the systems on the airplane, reads all the checklists, calculates all the takeoff/landing data, etc...basically everything computers do in modern airplanes.
