Sweet!! I'm gonna go download it right now, but to bad I have school tomorrow so I won't be able to test it until tomorrow

Also, I would like to thank Microsoft and everyone who contributed in the preparation, testing, and everything else that was done to make SP1,  and for taking the time to make a better, faster and safer  world for us pilots

After installing SP1 I can see a noticed improvment in performance.  I was getting a solid 26 (locked) at Westchester, where I usually got between 20 and 26.  Over NYC it was about 12 or so, but before it was at about 9-10.  So that's also good.  I'm also getting dual core usage of about 75% (100% on one and about 50-80% on the other). So I think this is a great improvement to FSX!  Great job, and thanks again!

Just 2 more frames? 12 is still pretty jerky.

Even on a system like yours.

Phyl,or anyone who knows: On Phil's blog..."SP1 needs a pristine RTM. "... and..."you will need to uninstall or repair RTM"...
What does RTM stand for?

Noticed a slight performance increase on my Quadcore QX6700 / 8800GTX system. Flying out of Tacoma with traffic set to medium, weather set to high, scenery set to high, and aircraft set to ultra high at 1920x1200 I am now getting around 20 -22 frames per second. The one thing the patch didn't fix is my blurry terrain issue, however. I still have to pause the game and go grab a drink while waiting for the scenery ahead of my aircraft to "unblur". If I turn down my autogen settings to sparse, this problem seems to get better. This is on a clean install of the game.

I am going to try defragging my drives and see if that helps improve things, otherwise its back to tweaking the config settings again. As far as core usage goes, the game seems to be fully using my first core, and about 15% of my other three cores.

edit: Watching my task man it seems there are CPU usage spikes whenever a large patch of the terrain "unblurs". When this happens it looks like CPU usage on cores 2, 3, and 4 hit about 65-70%.
