copy the WHOLE DVD disk 1 & 2 to a single folder? and would it be a problem for SP1 and SP2?

Kenair: Logically, both SP1 and SP2 rely on a valid installation of FSX, SP2 also looks for SP1.  They do not ask for the disk but do this checking in the files already present in the installation and surrounding Windows files/folders.  This does not include the path of the install in any way.

PiP:  Though your reply was well after the previous poster, I might as well answer you whilst I`m here.  If the guy previously had a problem and had to install from the drive then later got a problem where had had to fix FSX or reinstall, then his question is valid.  Not everyone is au fait with the ins and outs of these software setups....

First lower the caps, no need to shout.  Secondly, this whole thread is about using the second disk when theirs a problem doing it normally.  Have you tried the steps starting from the first page/post???

Also, I found from experience dumping any cd/dvd copying software and other stuff even temporarily can solve the problem.  norton firewall is another one.  Nobody will admit it but it won`t work because its protected against certain products used for copying.

Hi

I have just added a extra hard drive to my computer.I now want to install FSX to it.I have put disc 1 in and alls well.I now have put disc 2 in and it has become stuck at Scenery\World\Texture40b2fa2.bmp.CanI cancel the install and if I do will I have to uninstall all the folders that it had installed before it stopped installing.
What do I do for the best.

Dave

Turn your computer off and then on again.

If you have the disk 2 problem, then you won't be able to use disk 2 after disk 1 has been in the machine until you restart.

Pip, why did you bump up a thread from a guy that probably has not been on the forums and won't ever come on again?

The thread is pinned, how can I possibly bump it up?
