As I say, Vista users should run, not walk, and get this download. It will provide major help for OOM errors.
And then there is one more part, to come from us later this fall.

And does this patch only benefit people with 32bit OS and the 2gb memory limit?

I followed the instructions in the thread at AVSIM, as suggested in your WebLog, and it worked a treat for me. It'd be good to know I wouldn't have to worry about doing that now.

no, these are 2 separate things and both are required.
SP2 will mark the app /3G aware so you will no longer need to worry about that once its out.

If the address space edit already cures OOM errors for me, should I still install the new fix? The Anandtech article seems to suggest a tiny amount of risk (if that's the right word) due to required changes at video driver level (although I do have the latest drivers installed). Should I go ahead and install, or is it a case of "if it ain't broke..."?

I having a bit of trouble running my FSX with SP2 on Vista, its no acceleration its just the SP2 off of Microsoft.com
When i run FSX after installing it just says after a while, MSFSX must close. The does the error report thing.

End of August 2007 this thread was started, the subject was OOM not SP1. Its a bit of an old thread to resurrect and a bit much to try changing the subject. Perhaps a post in the forum itself rather than in a sticky? After all SP1 and SP2 are already released and under discussion often enough.
