Hey guy!...I finally got my scenery to show using your tutorial.  Well done!!....

[snipped shameless plug  :D ]

1. I noticed that you were going to do an alpha channel tutorial for the water...do you have any tips on that and creating a light map ?

Hi,

Thanks for your interest, the alpha channel is simply a seperate bitmap file
where all the water is colored black and everything else is white,  the
photo scenery generator then merges these two bitmaps (the scenery and the
bitmap) in the final product.
A lightmap is simply what the scenery will look like after dark, I usually
accomplish this by increasing the contrast of the scenery, darken it, and
then apply a yellowish tint.

Example:

Not always, the methods I show here use public domain imagery at no cost to the developer...

Just delete the directory that you built the scenery into and the fs9 library reference to the scenery...

The only source I personally know of is from the usgs, which is the scenery used in this tutorial (on the first page)

I can't find the fs2000 terrain sdk. If I try to do the build BGL in photo scenery maker it says resample.exe is invalid (because I think I have the fs2004 version). Will someone help me?

I don't know, I just downloaded it and tried it out and it worked fine for me. Try this to see if it helps
-download and extract the terrain sdk to an empty folder
-extract the zip file to the default "C:\fs2000"
-open photo scenery maker, click options
-point the terrain sdk path to the "C:\fs2000\terrain" folder
