Is there a way to take the images from Google's satellite imagery and make them into Flight Simulator Scenery.

I hope I got the right forum

There are a lot of tools out there; one of them is called SBuilder I think.

Yes it's possible. Here's some photoreal scenery for Las Vegas I did some testing with. (Downloaded from Google Earth)

And if you don't want to use tileproxy you can always try maps2bgl -

Go to the avsim forums and check it out here:

http://forums.avsim....ing_type=search

If link doesn't work just search for Maps2bgl in the avsim fs9 forum

Thanks
Paul.

FSET = FS EARTH TILES.

FSET is a great freeware using Virtual Earth, Google Earth and Yahoo photo datas.

Here's a french tuto:

btw, the tut is kinda easy to follow but if you can't understand something, tell me what's wrong.

Cool man - my only thing about these freeware packages that get the tiles from Google Earth and the like it what about seasons?

I live in a country (Canada) where the 4 seasons are definately prevelent  and was wondering if I had to generate 4 different sets from Google Earth during each season or are the Google Earth images even updated?

I'd love to use these great tools but don't want to fly around with sunny clear ground textures in the middle of winter

Thanks.
Paul.

Thanks I will look into them, and there is no need for my ground textures to change. I live in a Los Angeles suburb.

...

No seasons for FS Earth Tiles or from Maps2Bgl and Google Earth either?

Plus now - only about half a day after creating a successful scenery I'm trying another one and Each time in Google Earth when I pick Add Polygon - GE keeps stating it encountered and error and has to quit?

Thoughts?

Thanks.
Paul.

No seasons from google.

Forgot to tell you about GoogleE, it doesn't seem to work very well on FSET, the main servers are protected.

A tut here to try, good luck, you will need it !

Tileproxy is easier but FSET is better (no blurries).
