Hey All

I've got a route for you all to try;

Princess Juliana - Toncontin (vice versa aswell). It will take you approximately 2 hours to get there as it is roughly 1473.4 nautical miles. I just flown MHTG (Toncontin - TNCM) TNCM offline and its a great flight.

Enjoy :lol:

:lol: There was an accident at Toncontin the other day--they are going to ban commercial jets from flying there--the approach too difficult---fun in fsx or 9 however :lol: I will try the route!

Yup thats correct; however its just as dangerous at St Maarten. Currently every and any pilots fly there, they should make it just the best of the best.

It has to be that there is water on both sides of the runway--Maho Beach on one side and the "bay" I do not know the the name on the other. No room to abort takeoff! The runway sure is not 10,000 feet either!

bloody :lol: it was one :lol: of a landing at MHTG....was a few thousand ft above sea level so the approach was ultra difficult especially as there is no ILS installed, great fun though....TNCM take off wasnt too fun, almost ran off into the sea with my 777-200ER with a normal take off run :S oh well, everyone got to their destination safely and thats the main thing :hrmm:

Thanks for all the practice in GTA: San Andreas, right? :lol:

I love flying on a jetpack in and stealing the Cessna or the Learjet.  :hrmm:

Back on topic: Might have to try that sometime, never tried MHTG yet...

Thanks for the flight idea :hrmm:

FlyTampa should make Toncontin. It would go well with their collection!

We should create a little flight plan doing some "island-hopping" through all the nice new sceneries Paul Wheeler made. :hrmm:

Have fun! :hrmm:

I think the largest aircraft serving there is the 757. I posted screenshots a while back of a Miami - Toncontin flight. Fun approach.

Enroute now in my PMDG 744. :) All I have on the FMC database is two RNAV procedures (RWY 02 and 20) but that shouldn't be a issue. ILS's get boring after a while though so a NPA into a smaller airport with the 744 otta be fun. :P

Yup. That doesn't mean I can't try it in a 744 though. ;)

well, I just completed the route with the 744. I flew TNCM to MHTG as I've already landed the 744 at TNCM a few times. Takeoff at TNCM wasn't that bad. You just need to have the trim and flaps configured properly as I was able to lift off with 1/3 runway remaining whilst my TOW was 612,900LBS. I even derated the thrust to 1.43 EPR.

Approach into MHTG was fun also. It's one of those approaches where you need to stay on top of the numbers and fly the vertical bearing down to a precise science as per what the FMC gives you. Using the PAPI also assists amongst the VTI. Falling behind on the numbers will either put you in the center of town, or float until you stall. It's not that bad of an approach if you stay ahead of the aircraft. :hrmm:
