Hello,

I am going to attempt to recreate my hometown airport Newark Liberty International
(Yea I know, Im probably way over my head. I have great views from my house, i saw 2 747's 2 737's and an AF a340)

Anyway, i intend to make FPS friendly scenery(27FPS average 48% Ai ) so you can enjoy eye candy like AI.
My plan for the airport is....

-get rid of "toothbrush tower"
-Add marriot hotel
-Add the proper hangars
-Redo Taxiways
-Replace Runway textures with real ones
-Photoreal ground textures
-Custom Jetways with logos(ex. Continental)
-Redo terminals
-Maybe add and animate Airtran
- Maybe add Ikea and Toys R Us and other surrounding scenery
-Replace fences

If i had'nt mentioned this before im probably over my head and give or take maybe not EVERYTHINg will included, Im a newbie so can anyone point me in the direction to accomplish these task.

I know imagine simulations made a KEWR but it's FS2004 only and I heard it KILLS FPS! :hrmm:

Thankyou

P.S if do get started soon it will take a LONG while if ever because of school........I have 3 projects and tons of Homework, Its what i get for being smart :hrmm:

Nice dude. I live in Jersey City when I'm not at school, and have flown into there quite a few times, not to mention the countless commercial flights I have taken out of there....Good luck mate! If you need help with textures just PM me!

EDIT- The jetways say HSBC now...

You can use Steve Whalen's early FS2004 scenery for inspiration - he did a decent job custom modeling the terminals, tower and Marriott...I still use that one over any payware with some other scenery I added to it as well as a custom AFCAD.

Will you be making one for FS2004 and FSX? And I agree with you that ImagineSim fails at sceneries, because they are crappy quality, and murder FPS.

Yep the imagine sim scenery is a major frame hog for sure. I'd recommend that you develop this scenery for FS9 and FSX, after all FS9 is still the sim of choice for developers and enthusiasts.

I live under the flightpath for the 22L arrivals, and I've been to the airport and seen it countless amount of times in person.

It mat be a little early yet but if Kewr fails or when it is finished, i will be flying east to a small island owned by mother england, you guess. Hint. Hint. :hrmm:
