Don't worry. There will be an A340-800/900 which will be a lot better than Boeing. The A340's have outstanding performances!
No there won't. Stop giving people misleading information. And there really isn't such a thing as "better than X." Every aircraft has advantages and disadvantages, and those aircraft which may be suitable for some airlines, aren't for others.

If it's an Airbus, it isn't a Boeing.  That's why I'm not an Airbus fan.

Also, I think the A346 is interesting, but the 748i looks equally as nice. The cockpit is where I judge as well. The A346 has a very nice looking cockpit, but the 748i has WIDESCREEN PFDs and SFDs. You can't beat Widescreen.
You just can't.

It'd be a sad thing to see the A340's started fading away but I can't see it happening, especially not with Lufthansa.

Personally I much rather Airbus, they are so much better looking IMO, particularly the A318 and the A340.

Technically hes correct. If you work on a Boeing then work on an Airbus. You would say what a heap Airbus is  :hrmm:

How so? Last time I checked, one's place of work doesn't determine mandatory opinions for or against Boeing or Airbus. Alaska Airlines and Southwest don't require their pilots to think that Airbus sucks...

All I'm saying is it's incredibly narrowminded to rag on a company and it's planes for stupid reasons that are completely irrelevant to the company itself. "I don't like Airbus because it's not Boeing" is absolutely outside the realm of logic. Sure, you can favor one or the other, comparative to sports teams or schools, but regardless it's quite ignorant to actually think lower of Airbus and their planes for something they don't control (like, "it's not Boeing").

Hate Airbus for their MCDU, hate Boeing for their yokes, sure be my guest; as long as it's something for which said company is responsible. It's the same generalization as "I hate the French because they're not American," or "I hate Toyota because they're not Ford".....no :hrmm: they aren't, that's not even relevant!

Actually, I know 4 real life pilots, and everytime I ask them "do you like Airbus?" they reply with the usual "not very good, they're sucky planes."

I suggest getting to know some different pilots then.

You know 4 pilots? That may not be a fair test, before you come to a conclusion, ask more pilots than just 4 as there are millions out there and you may have picked the 4 only pilots in the world that dislike airbus  :hrmm:

Well, actually, like 6, or somethin'.

I know a Delta pilot, a former-AA pilot, :hrmm:, I forgot the rest! I haven't talked to most of them in a long while.  :hrmm:

Also, if you take a flight to anywhere, just ask the captain "what do you think of Airbuses?" I guarantee you, there's a 75% chance they'll say the same thing.

For one thing you are asking AA and Delta pilots, who are of course going to be biased towards Airbus because AA and Delta (yet) do not use Airbuses!

And you can't ask a Captain if he likes Airbus if he flies a Boeing. Find a captain that has flown both, you will get a valuable answer from him/her. And the answer of course will be "Airbus and Boeing has their ups and downs."

Why do you think so many airlines choose airbus to fly with?
