Geraldo is a tool.
N106US is the one that crashed in the Hudson, it's an Airbus 320. The aircraft mentioned in the AD with the compressor stall is an Airbus 321. An Airbus 321 can't turn into a A320, so no, it's not the same aircraft, and no, it's not the same engine. Same engine type, but not the same engine.
Having a compressor stall isn't a serious thing, it could be anything, and it's not a rare event. Geraldo is just trying to prove that US Airways neglected maintenance, it's a show for ratings.
If you asked Geraldo what an AD is, he would just say "Airworthiness Directive." He wouldn't be able to explain how one comes about, or what it does, or the different types of AD's there are.
