I'd like to adjust the "flyby" settings more to my liking. Can this be done? If so, what has to be done?
Thanks,
Tommy

What kind of Flyby setting?--- speed?--there is none---unless you use recording program like FRAPS to record the clip.

FSX has a built-in Flyby camera view; I want to be able to adjust things like view angle, distance from aircraft, duration of Flyby, etc....

Tommie: I think I may have found what you're looking for.
In your C:\Documents and Settings\YOURWINDOWSNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX-folder, you will find a file called Cameras.cfg. Open this with notepad, and you'll see amongst other things this:
[CameraDefinition.005]
Title = FlyBy
Guid = {6B79DD49-9B4A-439D-BF40-ACBF157B0BA0}
Description = This is the description of the fly by view.
Origin = Center
SnapPbhAdjust = Swivel
SnapPbhReturn = False
PanPbhAdjust = Swivel
PanPbhReturn = False
Track = FlyBy
ShowAxis = No
AllowZoom = Yes
InitialZoom = 10.0
SmoothZoomTime = 2.0
ShowWeather = Yes
XyzAdjust = FALSE
Transition = No
ChaseDistance = 500
ChaseHeading = 15
ChaseAltitude = 10
ChaseTime = 20
ShowLensFlare=FALSE
Category = Outside
ClipMode = Tower
Now....exactly what to change...well...I'll leave up to you. If in doubt: back-up the file first!

In case you can't find the file where Reject said it would be. I found it in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X
Let us know what you changed and how it worked out. I do agree with Reject; back up the original first, can never go wrong with doing that.
Good luck.

You have to go to the one in %appdata%\Microsoft\FSX (same place as FSX.CFG).

OK, I see the one you're talking about. Sorry for the mistake on the info.
Don't mean to jump the thread but got a quick question about this folder. If I delete a plane, the folder, from FSX in the regular FSX folder. Should I also delete the plane folder from this directory? I downloaded a couple of planes and didn't like them. However, I see the plane folder is in this appdata sub directory.
Thanks.
