Updated. Thanks, Flyhalf. :hrmm:

I've found a few more broken links, I'll try and fix those over my winter vacation.

Hey, I found this alternative to FSX if you wanna try it...you can purchase the base game, as well as extension packs, and it's super realistic. It has amazing graphics and effects, and it's super easy to use.

Here's the link if you're interested:

This is a new one for FSX! Converted from FS9 with a great panel!

Thanks! I've been suggested the Tinmouse 737 by several people and will be sure to include it in the next update. :hrmm:

I already have the next update partially crafted, but I need to add a few more aircraft and completely redo the Project Opensky links, due to everything being moved to the Free Sky Project website.

I suppose you should also add the CRJ700 from POSKY (now free sky proj), which is much better than default. Better textures, better model, flight dynamics are good but not perfect, and you can merge it with the default's VC.

Under utilities: add PMSOUNDS by project magenta, which gives you free GPWS Callouts (50, 40, 30, 20, retard, retard, 10 etc) and (v1, v2, gear up) etc.
http://www.projectma...s/pmsounds.html
Requires FSUIPC

Also FACETRACKNOIR, which is a freeware software similar to TrackIR but it uses your webcam to track your head movement. A cheap option for us budget simmers. Connects to fs with simconnect.
http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/

This one is a maybe, you can add it if you think its good enough.  - Cessna Citation X with VC.

Two more maybe's:
Fsrecorder
Editvoicepak X

As touchdown pointed out, Simviation is pretty good. That's where I've found most of my military downloads these days.  They've gone beyond Avsim after Avsim lost their website some years back due to hackers. Avsim is nowhere near the #1 download site it used to be.

Holy crap... It's like half the links are dead/broken now. :hrmm: I have a text document sitting on my PC with some additions/revisions, and I'll comb through the rest and fix those. I've been putting this off too long and will try to have this done by the end of the week, and will focus on fixing the broken/incorrect links as opposed to adding tons of new stuff. But, I have discovered several awesome freeware birds, and I will include the suggestions made by you guys.

    * Add approach to flight plan
    * Display Victor Airways
    * Weather reports without FS connection
    * Relative wind display
    * New enhanced native ".PLG" file format with support for cross-references, passing altitudes, notes, approaches etc
    * Sample plans
    * Sharable bookmarks
    * Display KML/KMZ files
    * New Quick Planner
    * Route Copy to clipboard for VAs, VATSIM etc
    * Water runways display
    * Detachable tool windows for expander panels
    * Actual times recorded (local or zulu) & can be printed on PLOGs
    * Spot elevations (with optional DEM installed)
    * Move aircraft to here function
    * Many more UI enhancements

http://www.tasoftware.co.uk/planG.htm

NOTE: For anyone using FSBuild2 set it to export to your PMDG or whatever model AND to FSX too.   That way the plan matches your route.  For non payware aircraft that use the standard FSX Planner you can, if you wish, create the route on the map then save it as a flight plan.

Buziel says:

By the way, regarding the Freeskyproject downloads, after Project Opensky shut down all the Posky files were still available on their (then) defunct website, but then they decided to migrate all the files to the Freeskyproject site. I updated all the broken links in my thread, and then they changed it again and put everything back onto the Posky website.  Here are the downlaods: http://www.projectop...p?app=downloads I will update it again in the future.
