Hey fellow folders,
I've recently taken a look at some reviews about the quietly introduced GTS 450 from Nvidia. Based on the GF106 core, it features 192 Shaders, 32 Texture Units, 16 ROP's and is equipped with 1GB of GDDR5 memory across a 128-bit memory bus. Core clocks are rather high coming in at 783MHz stock and many other vendors selling pre-overclocked versions with a core of 850MHz plus (1700MHz shaders).
Most of these cards support voltage tweaking which results in a regular 925MHz + on the Core (1850MHz Shader!). Using the -advmethods flag in the GPU3 client yields these cards anywhere around 10-11K PPD. Using roughly 120w at those clocks, this card will probably be our new "9600GSO" in folding lingo.
Price - Around $130 USD (Many vendors already offering Mail-In-Rebates which brings the cost down to around $115!)
*Also, for our GTX 460 users; Adding -advmethods in the GPU3 client will increase PPD to around 14,500 by using new work units. I just switched over to -advmethods and it downloaded a new work unit. Currently getting 14,070 at 880MHz core / 1760MHz shaders.*

Yep I can see some awesome GPU folding farms with this card.
Very nice tweak too. Can wait to see the results. Maybe now I can get a 100K Day in a day or so when my -bigadv finishes and dumps. I just got a 94K day yesterday.
