Does anyone have any knowlege on creating objects in gmax and creating a library object out of it so it can be placed with Airport design editor? Im specifically needing a taxilight object, low poly maybe 3 sided...after seeing the option in the editor to add your own objects it would be nice to have these to place as they would make a considerable difference to stock airports :hrmm: other things im considering if it works are things like runway lights and apron lighting poles...

Ok since noboby knows/ or cares, ill tell you how to do it incase someone searches for it in future  :hrmm: Create your gmax object as normal, export using the fsx compiler to get your MDL file. in ADE go to list > Models. then add, find your model and accept. your model is now ready to be placed in ADE. Right click where you would like the object and, Add > model select model and voila! Very powerful tool since theres no need for using xml placement for numerous objects anyomre! Your Gmax ground poly must still be exported the good old fashioned way with the fs2002 MakeMdl.  :hrmm:

I have a question, is there any chance? to use the with some program [probably GMAX], the objects like cars textures person and stuff like that from an airport like KORD from FSDT or KSAN from Flytampa??

So you can use it and place it in a new airport for personal fun??

No because the objects are compiled into the scenery BGL. once this is done you cant get the models back out, only the person/ company with the original model file can use it again in other sceneries. Although FSX does have stock cars you can use they are really good actually.

That sucks, imagine if you can combine cars, person, windsocks etc.. from Flytampa or Aerosoft..

Probably there would be twice really good custom airport in FS..
