Calling someone a "Dirtbag" is not trying to nicely convey your opinions. Just saying...

Now if John MaCain or another Republican was in office, tell me honestly you would be making all the same remarks?

I honestly would. Even if Sarah Palin were president I would still criticize her. I guarantee you that, 100%.

Yeah, I know it isn't. However, I give a clear explanation as to why I have been stating my opinions like this lately in my post to LA_BOS.

That's because Bush didn't set a record for most days abroad in first two years of office.  If he did, it would have been on the news.  But he didn't.

Mystery solved. :hrmm:

What about the rest of his terms?
Pretty sure he was too busy in Crawford, Texas to travel abroad in AF1!  :hrmm:

Point on issue...

If you start off by saying "Here comes a flame war," then why even bother to post? A comment like that is just there to instigate one.

Well, he really doesn't need a vacation for the very little 4 years he's in the white house :hrmm:

That's not very nice  :hrmm:

16 year olds should not be making threads like this. Kid probably doesn't know what it's like to work.. much less take care of a family.. MUCH LESS take care of America.

7-5-7.. with all due respect.. shut up. Every one of your posts arguing something is just stupid and really shows your age.

My statement said, "he really shouldn't be" not, "he shouldn't be." There's a difference. ;)

Mere technicalities. You obviously meant that Obama shouldn't be going on vacations.

I've tried stating my opinion nicely at this forum, however, I am constantly attacked and therefore I have changed my angle of attack, if you will. Therefore, I'm not going to nicely oppose your opinions/posts. Instead, I'm going to do what is done to me.

"Treat others the way you wish to be treated."

I have refrained from wielding posts laced with attacks like, "GTFO you idiot," as have many other members. But, because a few did not refrain, you're now rationalizing your rule breaking by saying, "They did it first!" It doesn't work like that. Just because they did it does not mean you get a "get out free" ticket.

Quote

EDIT: If I'm the idiot everyone says I am, then nobody would take such offense to me calling them dumb, nor would they make such an effort to prove me wrong. :hrmm:

Um, what?

I didn't say I took offense, I was simply pointing out it was unnecessary. Attacking other members makes you look immature and is against the rules.

As for the last part of that statement, that makes no sense at all. Perhaps this expression could be applied to the situation (from another forum)...

Quote

All that is necessary for stupidity to succeed is for intelligent people to do nothing.

I think it's human nature for people to want to stop what they perceive as misinformation. :(

EDIT: And please, enough with the ":P" emoticons. It's basically like saying, "So, HA! OWNED!" If there's going to be a flamewar, best keep it non personal and civilized.

EDIT #2: For some reason, I thought this thread was about the average pay for the pilot of Air Force One was $180,000. :hrmm:

You are in no position to make that assumption. I have a job and get a real paycheck too. Additionally, I will have the rights to vote in the coming 2012 election.

Also, thank you for your support. :hrmm:

757, if something involves politics, don't even think about it.

That how I recovered a lot of my reputation.

maybe im way too late to this party, but there was an article about the U.S. presidents life in the white house on the national geographic magazine. they specifically point out that the food they eat and the chef that works for them, among other things, are later billed to the president after his term is over. so 7-5-7, do some research first before saying that gets everything for free.

just my 2 cents.

Just wanted to add to Switch's comment about 181,000 per hour being cheap...

A Hawker 800 costs about 2,000 per hour...
A Gulfstream V costs about 3,500 per hour...
A BBJ costs around 4,000 per hour...

A 747 costing 181,000 per hour will cost over 1 million dollars for a 1 way flight from Boston to Los Angeles...   over 1.6 million for a 1 way flight from Washinton to Europe, and 2.6 million for a 1 way flight from Washington to Beijing.  AF1 is used a lot for private matters..   as well as the 757's the white house has too (remember earlier this year when Michelle Obama took one and a friend for a European vacation at the hands of the tax dollars?

I think the biggest reason that Republican's bash Obama's spending habits is because he has spent more in office in 2 years than Bush Jr. did in 8..   but yes you're right, if a Republican was in office, they wouldn't bash them so much..  but Democrats would.

Politics is a stupid argument..  it's like religion..   everyone has their opinions, everyone has their own beliefs..  but what gets people irritated at each other  is when you try to force your opinions on other people..   and most people who pay attention to politics these days don't get the whole picture or the whole truth..  they only hear it from one news source, and EVERY news agency in the USA is biased (except for the AP)
