NOTE: Once again I had to use a disposable camera, so the photos unfortunately do lack quality.

Flight Info
Posted Image
Date:1st July 2011
Flight Number:TCX366
Aircraft:Airbus A330-300(OY-VKI)
From: Glasgow International (EGPF/GLA)
To: Orlando/Sanford (KSFB/SFB)
Flight Time: 8h 42m
Cruise Alt: 35,000ft (FL350)

Just boarded, and found my seat at the rear of the plane. A US Airways 757 is waiting to depart to PHL.
Posted Image

Just pushed back after a small delay.
Posted Image

Taxiing to Runway 23 as an Emirates 777-300ER touches down from DXB.
Posted Image

In front of us is G-MLJL, operating the same route as TCX246. It was scheduled to depart after us but our delay meant it was there before us.
Posted Image

Beginning our takeoff roll on 23. Got to be the shakiest takeoff I've ever experienced.
Posted Image

A relief from all the bumps as we lift off.
Posted Image

Nearing the West Coast.
Posted Image

Nice view of PIK.
Posted Image

Air France A380 F-HBJB overhead en route to JFK.
Posted Image

After a few hours we were over the coast of the USA, can't quite remember where this was, but I think it was the Boston/NY area.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Passing EWR.
Posted Image

Some impressive clouds building...
Posted Image

What was supposed to be 32C...
Posted Image

After a few turns offering some nice views of golf courses, swamps and Daytona Beach, we finally touched down in SFB.
Posted Image

The reversers were deployed and produced A LOT of spray.
Posted Image

View of the small tower as rain drizzles down the window.
Posted Image

Parking at the gate, we are finally reunited with G-MLJL.
Posted Image

Different view of MLJL.
Posted Image

And finally, the crew were kind enough to allow me a visit to the cockpit.

There's a certain quality of good 'ole film that you can't get with digital nowadays.  Great seeing a flight through tried and true film again.

Flight Info
Posted Image
Date:15st July 2011 (arr. 16th)
Flight Number:TCX367
Aircraft:Airbus A330-300(OY-VKI)
From: Orlando/Sanford (KSFB/SFB)
To: Glasgow International (EGPF/GLA)
Flight Time: 7h 15m
Cruise Alt: 37,000ft (FL370)

After a pleasant holiday in the US, it was time to return home. Arriving at the airport with hours to spare, a nasty thunderstorm wass building in the area causing delays. Some of the reactions of the other passengers were quite funny - like they'd never witnessed lightning. I heard some 12 year old shout "if the lightning hits the plane we will have to make an emergency landing...!" in a dramatic voice. Perfect example of idiotism. My first sighting of an aircraft from the terminal was this Vision Airlines 767-200.
Posted Image

We finally board to find a pillow and blanket on our seats for the overnight trip as an Allegiant MD-82 sits on the wet tarmac.
Posted Image

Pushed back as we see the grounded 767 again.
Posted Image

Taxiing.
Posted Image

After takeoff.
Posted Image

More clouds...
Posted Image

The beginning of a sunset.
Posted Image

Above the clouds - the sun is blinding!
Posted Image

Epic sunset on the horizon B)
Posted Image

Almost gone...
Posted Image

Gone.
Posted Image

After a somewhat OK sleep we awaken to a nice snack of a muffin with orange juice, as well as coffee or tea.
Posted Image

Over Scottish land again...
Posted Image

Over Dumbarton after a VERY sharp turn for 23.
Posted Image

Finally touching down. I liked this flight more than the outbound.
Posted Image

Exiting near the end of the runway as we get a view of the apron. Jet2 757 G-LSAL, Air Transat A310 C-GFAT and Thomson 767 G-OBYD can all be seen in this picture. OBYD was also flying GLA-SFB on the same day as us, meaning 3 flights in total that day.
Posted Image

G-CELU gets airborne for Faro.
Posted Image

G-LSAL about to pushback for Tenerife.
Posted Image

Back in the cockpit - sat in the captain's seat this time as we watched an Onur Air A320 and an easyJet A319 land.
Posted Image

I certainly enjoyed my first trip to the USA, and I hope you enjoyed this report - despite the quality.  :hrmm:

Comments and Questions welcome.

If it weren't for the new liveries, I would've guessed these pics were taken in 1995...

They're charming in their own right.

:hrmm: The kid was 12...get over yourself.  While you may know a lot about aviation, the majority of the public knows very little.

Nice pictures for a disposable camera, though.

Well it was a guess. He could have been older. 12 at least.

You completely missed my point...

What if Nick or Kevin were to ask you a question about truck driving?  Keep in mind, if you get it wrong, you're an idiot.  Get my point now?  Not everyone knows everything about truck driving; not everyone knows everything about aviation.

Anyway, I won't detract from your picture thread anymore.  Just thought you were being a bit harsh. :hrmm:

Sorry to hear about the disposable camera, but it was interesting to see everything through the year 1985!  B)

Awesome pics for their dated illusion.   :hrmm:

They're at the top. Why does no one read the details?

I think he wants to know how you got the details...  :hrmm:
