Microsoft Flight will be released on the Games for Windows platform, but I don't know how Microsoft releases those games lately. Do you think Microsoft Flight will come in a boxed copy or will it be digital download only?

Boxed most likely, it'll be too large to download.

^ Never too large to download.

It will be available both ways. GFWL is an online marketplace (amongst other things).

Don't you have like, 1mbps where you live? Yeah, it is too large to download.

Well, NL2000 is 22GB for the FS2004 version, and 32GB for the FSX version and that has a download option. It only took me around 12 hours to download.

FSX is something like 15GB.

I can't imagine downloading more than 15GB for a computer. I really hope a boxed version will be available.

A boxed version is for sure, IMO...

Both.

As for, too big to download?

Starcraft 2 is 12 gigs out of the launch box. It's 19 gigs with all the updates. It's downloadable. Why wouldn't Flight be? It's just, do you want to spend the time downloading that?

Either way, I'm getting retail, due to easy of install/repair, and just cause that's what I've done with every flight sim.

Of course not. What if I have to reinstall it? Downloading that 20GB again?

Also I hope they include something extra in the boxed copy. The Insider Information booklet on FSX was nice.

You're saying you wouldn't backup that .iso or whatever it'll be? That's pretty stupid.

I don't see what the fuss about a long download is. I mean it's not like you have to sit there watching it. Leave your PC on over night. Still a lot quicker than ordering a box copy off Amazon.

As Mr-Sim said, back it up and you won't have to worry again.

Just give Flight a few years to get its service packs then you should be good to go on a boxed version that will by then be reduced in price and have all the services packs (similar to Flight Simulator X Gold Edition today). This will not only save you money but save you the frustration of only flying in Hawaii while you wait for Orbx to create content for Flight; of coarse if you don't mind buggy software or flying only in Flights Hawaii enhanced scenery then go for it on release date.

I think they're trying to make Flight less buggy at release.

Give it a few years and they'll already be working on a new one that will suck just as much as Flight will  :hrmm:

FSX is good, but FS9 is definitely the best flight sim Microsoft has produced

Since Flight isn't out yet and it doesn't suck at all, "Flight 2" will be amazing as well. works for me.

With my new internet service tier, I have a 500 GB monthly cap. Even with that, I'd rather get the software in physical form. It's just easier for me. So boxed purchase for me. :hrmm: Besides, software boxes look very nice these days.

I just have my doubts of how "awesome" Flight will be. It may have great graphics, but it seems like the features with flight sim get worse and worse every time. Hopefully, they won't use GameSpy for multiplayer this time around
