According to this video, Microsoft has put Microsoft Flight on hold because they doubt it will be a profitable venture. Now, is this a rumour or real?  :hrmm:

Ive not seen an official announcement, so until then i still beleive it will be coming out! I don't see how this late into development they would cancel it, sureley it makes more sense to release and get some money back rather than non?!

I will not believe it until a official announcement is made. development from what we can see so far is too far in to cancel it suddenly

I agree, they have already developed a lot and built lots of hype to cancel it. But I'm going to prepare myself in case something like that happens.

It wouldnt bother me if it did get cancelled to be honest, FSX is totally playable these days and looks freaking awesome, XP10 is on its way to, all in all its never looked better for simming.

FSX still needs tweaks to be playable and will never take advantage of 2011 technology. Plus there are still lots of bugs that must be fixed. And what about some years later? It will be way too outdated.

I know, there will be X-Plane, but there will be no competition and X-Plane will become the monopoly. I don't think that's a good thing.

This thread scared me, especially after the recent lack of updates...

You guys don't believe a guy on some flight sim show but you believe a German magazine?
If you don't believe one, then don't believe the other.
Just wait for the official word...whenever that might be and even IF it's true.

Well the magazine provided more evidence...

Can't say I would be too disappointed if it was.

Microsoft, a US company, worth $224 BILLION, decided to reply to a small time, German magazine that probably cost about $10 000 to get started.
Let's put things into perspective, guys.  I know you all want Flight to push ahead, but let's just wait and see what happens.  Until then, just assume everything is still on track.

Good point.  So how do the Flight magazine people know this news?
Who gave them the info?

Taken from the reply...

"In the current flight! Issue contains new information about the Microsoft Flight as well as comments on the impact of the new Marketplace."

So who did Microsoft reply to?  Who did they feel was worthy instead of posting it on their own Flight website?

We've had Microsoft reps and an ACES Studio rep post frequently here back when FSX came out and during the first and second patch period. What makes more sense to you? A YouTube vlogger who has a history of mudslinging websites (such as AVSIM and its owner) and a so-called "secret source" who leaks information to him or a magazine that gets the information from the horse's mouth?

I'm not saying anything to the contrary.  I'm saying let's just wait for some kind of official word.  It's all hearsay until something comes straight from Microsoft or an ACES spokesperson.
Like I said, until an official word arrives, just assume it's all still on track and being worked on.  Believing a vlogger or a magazine only leads to greater speculation.

Microsoft's entire press handling of Flight has been total nonsense. They've done a horrible job putting information out about the program.

It was a mistake to start a thread that kept a rumor going. Nice job!!!
