absolutley, rain like that would be amazing for vc effects, though I suppose I would take performance over the rain effect but It does help it make it look more real and act more real (visibility) etc.

I have to reason not to do them.  

Started playing with shot #1 a few days ago. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get it lined up even remotely close in FSX. Either the airstrips in FSX are WAY off, or I'm WAY off.

Unlike Microsoft, allow me to ease some speculation.  

I have not "given up." Not sure where that came from or what made you say that? I simply said that I was stuck on shot 1. That doesn't mean I'm not trying the rest. I know the location of 1, but it isn't easy to line it up. (altitude, distance, zoom, etc)

I have next week (Thanksgiving Week) off, so I will be working on the comparisons then.

Regarding the system specs: Doesn't 3.2GHz and GTX560 to run settings at maximum still sound a bit too much?

It does, but at least that's current hardware and maximum settings.

FSX couldn't run maximum settings with any hardware at the time of launch.

Actually that's quite good, almost unbelievable and those components can be found at low prices. At least they are focusing on running it with hardware currently available this time around.

Let's not forget that's running default of course

Pop in a PMDG aircraft and a simple FlyTampa scenery equivalent and that 3.2 dual, has to be a 3.2 quad to run at minimum Medium settings now
