Now now, let's not start calling people idiots.
I haven't flown on Vatsim for about 6 years and was always an on and off pilot. I would always put a comment in the remarks section so the controller would be aware of my inexperience.
Isn't that what it's there for?  :hrmm:

Yes, it is. However, Ian has the idea that it has to be real life remarks or you're a noob.

Hmm, I joined VATSIM 6/10/2004 but apparently have been dropped from the rolls entirely as neither my USER ID or Password are recognized any longer...

I don't know if they actually delete inactive accounts or not..

I'm also trying to figure out, if my ID where the same back when VATSIM was SATCO

Well I think he knows that you guys have put him straight but you've got to admire his dedication.  :hrmm:

No, we don't delete accounts, they simply get downgraded to inactive by the Membership Department - opening a ticket with them will allow them to reupgrade your account. We'd love to have anyone back who wants to try the VATSIM experience again - it's well worth it. It keeps me flight simming and enjoying it.

I don't think it does. I last flew on Vatsim 07/09 and logged in a month or so ago to find my history still intact.

I have to ask the OP: what's a realistic flight plan? Do realize that even in the real world, not every aircraft follows airways.

Example as I have done this flight IN REAL LIFE.....

RID5 RID PXV J29 DARTR J29 CRP MFE REX UJ10 MTY

Filed flight plan. Around RID, we were cleared direct to MTY. Thats 1135 NM direct, during the day.

Your flights where a lot longer than mine, after we would take off from San Antonio and get vectored around the active MOA's, ATC often gave us direct to our destination.  The furthest I've had was direct from somewhere around Austin direct to Sioux City, SD..  don't know the mileage off the top of my head.

We do a lot of long and short flights out of DTW. We do MTY, AUS, SAT, IAH, and DFW daily.
