Hey when you find a new Anti Aliasing alternative, let me know :hrmm: I can also use a few frames here and there. Even with the 2600k at 4.5 and a gtx 460, just like you said, intense airports and captain sim, just turns to 20-25 fps.

Nvidia cards are different. For that card, start with 4x MSAA and go from there. You can also try the inject FXAA mod.

Well my performance is fine with 8xMSAA, and the quality is perfect (seen in my videos), but it's always nice having an extra frames here and there for the times you want to use fraps in congested areas :hrmm:

In that case, it's possible you can get near the same quality but a bit better performance with 4x MSAA and the FXAA mod used together.

The impact of the AA level will also vary from a card model to another of course.
The only important thing, when it comes to the stability of the performances of the card, is to ensure that the transparency AA is disabled, you have to kill it, kill it deaaad... like, with a stone or something. ©

I've had FSX for a long time and have hundreds of payware addons for it.  It looks and runs beautifully. I also have X-Plane10 with several aircraft and airports and some addon scenery.
I believe X-Plane will advance to be very impressive as the payware developers show off their skills with it.  It has a lot of potential.
The screenshots that started this thread do not show a healthy install of the X-Plane 10 simulation.  I've seen corrupted installs of FSX that look just as bad.
