What exactly does the Flight Beta offer?

After looking through some trailers - looks like Microsoft has resorted to the arcade-game, rather than a simulator. The sad thing is 90% of the simmers out there are looking for this, rather than actual realism.

And it's not just a game as many think. Far from it, actually...

@ OP
You are given a few tutorial missions (weaving in and out of hot air balloons collecting coins) and the option of free flight in either a little Piper Cub (?) or the ICON A5.

You're right about that. It's even worse than a game.

It may be added later, but for now - it doesn't even come close to giving you an option for selecting a gate or parking area, you click or drag the plane icon to the desired airport and that's it, you're on the runway. Hard to take a sim seriously when it only lets you do that.

Hard to take a simulator seriously too when the moment you turn off the engine the landing gear is automatically extended.

It does not work! I try to turn the switch all the time and it does not turn at all!
On-topic, it's also hard to take a simulator seriously when you can't taxi on the ground.

There are lots of leaked videos where you can see the complete operation of the Icon and Stearman.
And they are fully functional. There is no feature that doesn`t work, except for radio transmission, active navigation. But it looks like it is prepared for full operation.
The aircrafts operate exactly like they do(would) in FSX.
If you are running a leaked copy, maybe that is the problem...

Everything is functional on the cockpit, except the engine switch.
I can't taxi on the ground with my joystick, but with the mouse I can.
Yes, I'm running the leaked copy. But I doesn't see how that could be a problem. Isn't it identical to the beta?
