I hate to ask, but if you do have some spare time, would you mind taking some screenshots around KPHX?  I'd really like to see how X-Plane models the interesting terrain here and the coloring of it.  To date, I believe I've only seen green environments, rather than a desert one.

B) I don't know if it's my install or a bug in-game, but I'm guessing the grass isn't luminous green and the roads aren't painted in a Beetroot colour?  :hrmm:

I wasn't too sure how much you wanted - but here's the area around Phoenix KPHX airport.

Taken at 1920x1080 - so they're too big to post here really. Click the link to be redirected. Then the click the pic to see fullsize.

That was quick - thanks mate!

I'd imagine the bright purple and green colors are either a bug or something wrong with your install, but the rest of it still looks quite plain and FAR too green in color.  I understand that they weren't aiming to replicate every part of the world but present a plausible world.  Sorry, but for operations out of KPHX, that isn't a plausible world.

The clouds are the killers. I've only managed to set it to 10% without any hit. That's the odd puff here and there.
Check your XPlane profile in the NVidia Control Panel (or NVidia Inspector), and ensure the transparency antialiasing it disabled.

It's a bug in the nvidia drivers. I heard the XP team is currently in contact with nvidia to try to get it sorted.

Excellent !!
Transparency AA is usually a FPS killer when it comes to displaying semi-transparent objects like clouds. I'm glad the logic applied also to XPlane.
PS: feel free to post more shots !
(including shots where the sun actually shines :hrmm: Why not a shot while flying above the sea of clouds, for example ? B) )

I must say that I'm getting more and more impressed with XP everyday.

If I had all the addons that I do for FSX in XP then there's no question that XP is the better sim.

I've even got over the less userfriendly UI too
