George Town, Grand Cayman – This week Cayman Airways Virtual marks its fifth birthday, and 17,000th flight.

Cayman Airways Virtual has served 2 million passengers and accumulated nearly 30,000 flight hours in the past 5 years. We have travelled a distance totaling more than 12 million miles, enough to fly from the Earth to the moon 50 times!
Thanks to all of staff for the immense amount of time that they have devoted to our beloved airline. The dedication displayed by our staff directly influences just how successful we have, and we will become, and everyone should be proud of the contribution they have made to redefine the flying experience for countless people. There is no possible way to re-pay these people for their efforts within the airline, except for my continued gratitude and appreciation for the work that they do, without them, we simply would not be where we are today. It is important for us to take a look at where we have come from, to truly appreciate where we are, and where we are going. So we invite you to take a quick look at how our website has evolved through-out the years;

With a network spanning the Caribbean, North, Central and South America, Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and the fringes of Asia, Cayman Airways Virtual is stimulating demand for travel and finding new markets with an appetite for developing links with the Caribbean. The airline began operations on July 6th 2007, with a full flight of 136 passengers bound for Miami from Grand Cayman and a commitment to make the travel experience more enjoyable, more accessible and more interesting. Quickly we identified potential markets that we could potentially be quite successful in, and so the idea to launch separate divisions that span continents was born.
The FlyCay Corporation (FCC) was born. The parent company that groups all of our divisions in to one extraordinary experience. This brings benefits to all divisions of the airline, fly for one division, others benefit. Our services span 5 continents and we have 4 unique divisions;

Cayman Airways (Main Airline)

CaribCay Airlines (Eastern Caribbean Division)

AmeriCay Airlines (North American Division)

EuroCay Airlines (European Division)

I could never have imagined that five years on we would be in the strong position that we are today. Our strategy was to provide a service previously not seen, and to treat our pilots as pilots, not simply another name and number on a roster. Adding aircraft and destinations we gradually reached the operation that we run today. We have 28 aircraft and over 100 destinations - making us not the largest of airlines, but the perfect size for our intended purpose, to serve the community as best we can.

Five years into operations, the airline has delivered on its commitments and despite rapid increases in fleet, network and passengers, Cayman Airways Virtual has managed to keep the quality of its service high, and we boast one of the best websites that any virtual airline has to offer today! We believe that one measure of how well an airline is performing is to look at the airline's website and see how frequently it is updated, how information is made available, if public feedback is encouraged, if pilots are praised for their achievements, we successfully meet and exceed all of these aspects.

In closing, thanks everyone for making us what we are today, we will continue to improve and find new ways to better serve you, our pilots, future pilots, and admirers.

Blue Skies and Happy Contrails always,
Jonathan Schutte | CEO Cayman Airways Virtual, FlyCay.com
