Hi all, first post coming right up... Vatsim can be a daunting experience, what with the massively complicated setup, not to mention the procedures you need to learn once you're connected. I just did my first complete flight on the network (VFR EGGD EGFF with some sightseeing), and I have to say I wish I hadn't put it off for so long. With the help of a great controller at Bristol ground (Jordan Howe, I believe), I was up in the air in no time, and my confidence is now higher than ever before. I guess what I'm saying is, if you're one of the many who have considered but not tried Vatsim, JUST DO IT! You'll never look back :D

To be fair you're probably right, it was most likely my research into Vatsim that led me down awkward paths :P (In fact a friend of mine did mention he managed it in a matter of minutes, perhaps I'm just a bit slow :L). But I stand by my point, if it had taken a year to set up it still would have been entirely worth it :D
