I haven't used a flight sim since Flight Simulator 98 I think it was. I am now a pilot on the Boeing 717 and wishing to set up a simulator to help me train.
Doing some Internet searching it seems as if X-Plane 10 is now the pick of the bunch. My questions are:
- What are the visuals like for flying in Australia?
- Is there a realistic Boeing 717 in X-Plane or one you can download?
- Is there a yoke system out there that is more set up to airliners? The ones I keep looking at have a throttle quadrant with pitch/mixture and the like. One that could do auto throttle would be great but I think I am asking a bit much.
Thanks for your help!

Hi,
I've been using X-Plane for about a year and a half now and love it. My guess is that you will be very pleased with XP10 if you have a computer system and monitor that can handle its demands. How good the visuals are will depend a lot on computer power and the fit of the components with how XP operates.
You may already have done so but if not, I suggested you join the X-Plane.org community. Post your questions in the most appropriate forum(s), and my guess is you'll get your questions answered.
Maybe I'll see you there.
Best of luck,
Bill
