###### - hit my first major hurdle. When I try to place the pillars under the runway, they show through the runway texture.

Any ideas?

Runway in AFCAD, right?  Anything in AFCAD that is visible has no layer value, so anything else in view (terrain, macros, etc.) that has layer values will override the AFCAD display.  Lower the elevation of the support pillars in small increments until they quit popping through the AFCAD.  You'll probably wind up with a miniscule gap between the top of the pillar and the runway; but it's not likely anyone will be able to get in close enough in FS9 to detect it.

Its not that they physically pop through - its the fact that you can see any object (autogen, macro etc) through the texture. For example, I had to make an exclude area directly under the runway, as the few autogen trees that were down there where visible through the runway surface, even though they weren't actually poking through it.

I've sort of solved the problem (for now) by using single sided 2D polygons and only having them down one side of the runway.

What do you think of attempt at the shadow underneath the platform? It would be better with a dark brown, but grey was the closest there was of the default textures. Do you think it works?

This new mesh is great! It puts back the hill that the default mesh left out, that I was trying to rebuild, meaning I can lower my hand-drawn mesh from 9x9 to 4x4. :D

Don'tcha just LOVE it when a plan comes together?   :o   Last night must have been the "correct" time of the month, because I also got my XML exclude problem figured out!  LOL!!!!!

What's going on?  We gotta wait for Feb 22nd to solve all our problems?  What are we supposed to do?  Accumulate them all year long and wait for Feb 22nd to try to fix them?   :P

GREAT JOB!!!!!!   :D
