The choice is completely up to you. The three methods have their pros and cons:
Custom AI made with MRAI and AIA/FSP etc.
PROS: Best FPS around, nice paints and models, realistic flightplans, free.
CONS: Time consuming, requires a good amount of background knowledge of AI and aircraft in FS9.
Project AI
PROS: Easy to install, requires almost no background knowledge, is free.
CONS: Hard on FPS, models and paints are crappy quality, not every airline is covered, takes a while in install, flightplans aren't the most realistic.
Ultimate Traffic
PROS: Extremely easy to install, requires no more work after installing the program, covers 800 airlines, the fastest way to get traffic
CONS: Uses PAI V1 models and often substitutes aircraft with others, unrealistic flightplans, crappy paints and models, hard of FPS
The choice is yours. Whichever method you choose, you will have AI in your sim. Some of the AI is better than others, so you have to choose whether you want good quality with hard work, or quantity with no work.
is that all the choices we have??? isnt there any payware ai traffic that is not hard on the framerates???

re: ProjectAI
Their url is http://www.projectai.com/
(not as previously posted).
They aren't dead & gone,
their hosting ISP had a couple of intermittent problems recently,
which also affected FS-Gateway & all other hosted sites.
Whilst ProjectAI has released 'Official' packages for -
177 Airlines (+ 12 historical)
9 Cargo
18 Military
These should all be considered as 'base' packages,
as several are obviously quite old now.
However, most people don't realise, if you install these,
you can then download their currently available updates,
from the Project AI Files Library.
These also contain various additional airlines & cargo 'unofficial' packages,
i.e. some have not been packaged yet for use with the PAI installer.
I'd also recommend World of AI,
a spin-off by various PAI contributors, which now contains 58 packages.

I was just wondering how you folks compare the quality with the others already discussed in this thread.
Thanks.

i didn't know it was easy to do this, it's a little boring, but when you finish the work, it's very pleasant to see airports that aren't empty anymore, with acfts. taxiing, taking-off and landing...
thank you very much for the tutorial!
