The First Flight Centennial Celebration will kick off in Kitty Hawk, NC, USA on Saturday, December 13, and end December 17, 2003, exactly 100 years since the first powered flight by the Wright Brothers.
The official Centennial site can be found here. The five-day celebration includes a daily airshow, flybys (a total of 100 flybys of historically significant planes during the week), speaker, and even musical concerts (Michelle Branch, The Beach Boys, The Righteous Brothers, etc). It is expected that over 35,000 spectators will be at the event every day (and parking is off-site ).
Brad and I will be travelling with digital cameras and camcorders, our computers (with dialup connection to the Internet), and plenty of miniDV tapes and memory sticks to store the footage. Every night after the day's proceedings we plan to blog our adventures in this forum, complete with photos. We might even be able to upload a small video clip or two as well, depending on how well our dialup connection works
This forum won't allow you to create new topics, but you'll be able to reply to topics we start. If there's something you want to know about the celebration or want to see a photo of something in particular let us know in the Requests post (here) and we'll do our best

I got invited to go down there, but school and basketball are in the way. Plus it's an 8 hour drive. Still wouldn't have minded going tho.
