Hi, and I would personally like to welcome all the first timers here at fs2004.com! It's a great place to stay indeed!

When you first post a screenshot with your less powerful systems, poeple may reply, Turn your AA up :D, or something.

You're like, "Whats AA?".  No worries.

AA stands for Anti-Aliasing. Aliasing is the jaggies that you see on some screenshots.

Now, if you have a onboard graphics card, then all hope is lost. I recommend upgrading to a better card. (I'm sure the thousands of people on here will help you decide)

So, if you have a good card (ATi: 9800, X850, X800, Nvidia (Geforce): 6600, 6800, 7800. I would recommend no lower than that. If you have a $200-300 budget. Then go for them :D

To update your drivers, I recommend the Catalyst drivers or the Omega drivers. Do a search on a search engine and you will find it.

Next, open the program and install it.

After installing, open the program and go to the part of the Anti-Aliasing or Anisotropic filtering and turn it up on the best if your computer can handle it, or just turn it on to meet your own computer's preferences.

NEVER EVER TURN ON THE ANTI-ALIASING INSIDE FLIGHT SIMULATOR

That maybe the reason you get bad frames.

It really depends on your computers specs.

I hope this helped.

Yes, the recommendation is to turn off Anti-Aliasing in the flight simulator settings, and to turn it on in your Video card settings.  This is a more efficient use of resources, and it does a better job on the Anti-Aliasing as well.  :D

ATI ATI, I used to have an Ati Radeon 9700Pro and I was happy with it. I now am te owner of the nVidia GeForce 6800GT (I bought a used computer) and my personal oppinion about nVidia is that it s**ks.
The Radeon 9700Pro was easy to configure (the desktop menu was easy to use) and I never had any trouble with it, it just did its job.

The nVidia was annoying from the start. It keeps telling me that SLI is not configured (of course it isn't there's only one card in my computer and I can't seem to turn that message off) and I had some trouble with playing BF2 because of a driver issue.

If anyone wants to by a videocard my suggestion is to put a ATi in the machine. Usually the speeds of the cards in the same price ranges don't really differ much so the only criteria for choosing a videocard is ease of use and my opinion is that ATI wins.

Again this is my opinion and I know not everyone agrees with me.

Sorry for such a late reply, but I'm guessing you have the problem solved now? If not, your best bet is to go here
