The Boeing 707 is the quintessential jetliner. It possesses elegant, classic lines unmatched since it went into service, especially when the JT3D turbofans were added. To me, there is nothing more majestic to view, either on the ground or in the air. But don't take my word for it. Ask John Travolta who bought one: he certainly recognizes the aesthetic of this bird, and understands something about the meaning of "cool."
If you appreciate its beauty, it also makes for great "eye candy" by replicating it in various liveries with Ultimate Traffic. For me, as an "airport bum" back in the '60s as a teen, there was no rival to the 707 while watching it on final approach to KLAS with fully extended flaps. With Captain Sim's Legendary 707 I can re-create this experience to an uncanny degree, almost transporting me back in time. The 707 is recreated in astonishing, realistic detail. For commercial airline lovers, I think it is a must have.
Moving from its exterior detail and beauty into the cockpit, I find the Legendary 707 has character and personality: you are required to actually "fly" this aircraft within realistic parameters. I, for one, cannot find it in me to return to the current Boeing airlines available in FS2004. With their advanced avionics and instrumentation, they almost fly themselves and demand little from the flightsim pilot. Not so with the 707. Behind its controls, you keep your hands on the yoke, monitor throttle settings, and stay alert. The result of which is that by the time you have "laboured" to bring this aircraft to a profile landing and docking at the gate, you are abit taxed or drained of energy. In my opinion, this is what flightsim is about: I experience myself as the pilot who married this aircraft's undercarriage to the runway and feel a sense of earned accomplishment.
Compared to other aircraft, I might as well be at an expensive arcade. This elegant aircraft requires to be flown; its rewards are many.

Poor performance on fast computer

This product would get a 10/10, if it wasn't for the fact that it is a complete system hog. The visual model is excellent, as are the panels, liveries and modelling of the autopilot and electrical/pneumatic/APU systems. The sounds are very accurate, very authentic. However, there at the expense of all this is the poor performance. My relatively high powered computer can tackle this with reasonable frame rates, but it is the stuttering it produces which can get annoying. Especially if you have a lot of other complex sceneries or AI traffic and high graphics settings.

I got this product a while ago and I was hooked. My favorite livery is Braniff. It comes with four models. A great value!
