Description: The development of the successor to the B-52 began in the early 1960's and resulted in a contract being awarded to Rockwell in 1970. The B-1 first flew in 1974 but soon ran into political trouble. The project was cancelled in 1977 when only 3 prototypes existed. 1981 saw Reagan order a fleet of 100 B-1Bs, the last of which were delivered in the early 1990's. Designed for low-level, high speed penetration, the B-1B saw action in the Gulf War.

Pros: Textures are nice, flies great, decent panel and VC for simple flight
Cons: Few wishes in the visuals...

First of all, 9's and 10's are reserved for the hard core simulations that include working FMCs, manuals, etc. If you are familiar with Alphasim, this jet basically pushed the envelope for them...actually was the start of a new business model as apparent through other releases since B-1B. Prices have gone up over at Alphasim, but with the upgrades in features and quality in recent releases, the value is still "Alphasim." The default textures are awesome and there are many others available for download in the various file libraries. Basic questions that remain are: "how does it fly?"; "how does it sound?"; "how are the animations?" The jet passes well in these areas...what you'd expect after paying $20.00 (better). Simply put: Alphasim B-1B is a good-looking, fast, simple, comfortable jet for pulling long-range flights military style!

Pros: Model is detailed, Afterburners look absolutely stunning, Just a beautiful craft to fly
Cons: Front Landing gear doesn't rotate

This is an absolutely amazing aircraft to fly. There are a bunch of simple things that makes it great. It is easy to fly so it is not for a serious enthusiast.

Pros: Great model, good VC
Cons: price, lack of manual

The best seller at Alphasim for a reason. Outstanding in every way. Some great repaints available including the A model (my favorite). Too bad the dollar exchange rate sucks.
