Description: FSGenesis mesh and landclass products provide realistic terrain over which to fly for a low and affordable price.

They have mesh varying in detail all the way from super high 9.6m meshes to high resolution 76.4m meshes, and cover a significant portion of the earth, with more being added all the time.

In addition, the owner of FSGenesis has offered many of his mesh products as freeware downloads in order for prospective customers to try before they buy. Meshes can be bought individually at prices under $10 a piece, or a membership to the store may be purchased giving discounts on any mesh you buy. The highest level of membership is a lifetime pass to download any current or future product for free.

Great product, great service!

Pros: Really detailed, changes the FS mesh DRASTICALLY
Cons: None so far

I have the European 76.4m mesh and the freeware US 38.2m mesh. I love it so far and really hate flying over default mesh. Go try the free US mesh on avsim, it's a great preview.

Pros: Mountains look better
Cons: Wasnt as DRASTIC a change as I was hyped up for

Ive got Ultimate traffic,US Roads,Active Sky there was no doubt that a big change happened. For some reason, this one just didnt grab me the same way. Untill I got away from Florida and the coast and up into the Rockies, I didnt see any difference. In areas with mountain ranges, you can really see a noticable improvement. But unless you spend alot of time looking at mountains, its hard to say run out and get it.

Now the US National Landclass from them is a different story. Its 2.5 megs made more of a noticable improvement than the gigs and gigs of terrains I downloaded.

Pros: Great improvement on detail and flying experience
Cons: Limited global coverage. Relatively expensive

FSGenesis 76.4m SRTM is the based on the same data as most other producers of terrain mesh. The only difference is that you pay a relatively high price for a very limited area.

Combine the prices of the FSGenesis modules and you will find competitive packages which cover the whole globe with 76.4 mesh at a lower price.

Some people only fly in a limited area and for these people one or two FSGenesis meshes may just be good enough. However most simmers will eventually fly to all parts of the globe and will lose out in areas not covered by FSGenesis. Or even worse, will have to pay for a new area when/if it arrives.

Therefore an investment in a full 76.4m global mesh package once and for all, installed and forgotten, will be the most satisfying.
