GREAT PLANE BUT THE ABSENCE OF ALTIMETER IS A PROBLEM

My grandfather worked as a mechanic on this plane back in the day. They have one on display at the Pima Air & Space Museum across from the Davis-Monthan AFB boneyard in Tucson.

That particular model jet collided with another aircraft just off the coast of Savannah, Ga. this resulted in an active nuclear weapon being jetisoned just of our coast. Just thought I'd pass on this interesting tidbit on about this plane. There is also a static model of this plane on display the at the Mighty 8th Airforce museum in Pooler, Ga along interstate 95 should you ever be traveling through. If you are a plane or hsitory buff, I highly advocate this museum, but m ake sure to allocate a whole day...

Great plane the only problem is that it has no altimeter on the panel. This is a big problem for any aircraft in the post 1920 era...
