Description

A simple Excel file to calculate the BoD distance and rate of descent based on speed and altitude, taking into account airport and pattern altitude. Ground Speed is used to avoid the need for wind speed and direction calculations. Enter variables in the red cells and read-off values in the black cells. The first line calculates the distance from the target to start the descent based on speed and altitude for a required rate of descent. The second line calculates the rate of descent required for current speed, altitude and distance from the target.
