Very nice rig. Hope it goes well for you.

I question the need for water cooling unless you o/c by a mile, but if that's what you want, then awsome.
1. It's quiet
2. Oh yeah ... overclocking baby !

You should be able to run FSX at a very nice level with that machine.  No need for tweaks in my opinion.

Would tweaks still help to make it a little faster?

How much was this???
Originally $4379 ... but with special price $3510
Ouch talk about a price tag... i bet ya guys like Mul on the forum could build that machine for a fraction of that price at least 1000 cheaper.

but on the other hand...Alienware is sweet. Hence if you read my sig text

Funny thing, you said you don't know how to build a pc and that's why you bought it pre-built..but now you're thinking about overclocking it? How is it that you don't know how to build yourself a pc but know how to overclock??.

I don't know, it just sounds weird to me

sorry but it aint much of a beast. and no it won't play fsx top whack.. not with 50 fps all the time so smooth with addons. and thats a stolen price you have paid. ive spent probably over 1.6grand and have a speaker system worth 300+ included in that price!

you have been robbed.

Heh ... wow ... getting a lot of slack for buying an Alienware machiene.

I AM very well up to to date about PC's and could have easily build it IF I wanted to. I just don't want to. I got money to pay for not wanting to ...

Is that really so hard to understand ? :shifty:

BTW: I've been messing with computers since 1979 and then started working professionally in 3D. The job, which is also my hobby, has done very well for me so I don't have to build it myself if I don't want to.

Now ... we'll go back on how well FSX will work on it, once it's in ...

So ... what would have made it more of a beast ?

Any suggestions ?

Oh ... and by the way ... I'm not replying anymore on what I paid for it ...

I understand you had the money to spend, and that you didn't want to build a computer. But, you could have gone to iBUYPOWER and got a computer there for a cheaper price, but oh well, its too late.

well id of had a quad core to start with, and got some pretty decent cooling and o/c that to like 3.2-3.6ghz a core, then bought more decent ram, some pc1000 stuff, look at maybe going sli with the gtx's a powerful power supply 1kw.

and more

which would have been alot cheaper than that.

im not getting at you i  just feel like you know know you have been robbed.

WOW some major jealousy going on here.

Congrats chalbers, enjoy your new PC.  If I had the cash I would possibly do the same thing..I do build my own, but I cant say I enjoy it much.

Ignore the sniping and please post your results.
Jealousy indeed.  Get over the price tag folks!

Congrats Frank - how many times per day will you be checking the tracking number by the end of the week?

It will work "very well" on that rig. If you max all sliders and all features (weather, traffic, yada yada) and try to fly over NYC you'll get crappy FPS, but there's really nothing available hardware-wise that could handle the load at this point.

Off topic: I don't think people are jealous, it's just human nature to feel a bit shocked when someone throws money down the toilet. Granted, the OP has the means to do so, but it just seems a waste. No one made jealous remarks about Heiko's $3,500 PC, but then again it was a DEAL at that price, lol.
