Hey guys i was wondering if anyone knew of any free good aerial or sattelite images (for Australia) other than google earth and stuff since they have distribution laws. If not then ill most likely buy some. :lol:

well I don't know anything other than google earth, but seriously if they don't want you to distribute the images why does it let you save the image! :lol:

You can use Google Earth images as long as your scenery is freeware.

No you can't use Google Earth. It is copyrighted. Use a program called USA Photomaps, its a freeware program that will give you colored and b&w photos depending on the area. USAPM uses USGS imagery.

You may use Google Earth for your own personal use, but you cannot redistribute scenery that uses Google Earth.

Ohh ######! and USA photo maps is for USA only not Australia.

This has been discussed on the AVSIM forums at great length. Have a look for posts on there. You can release scenery with GE images as long as you don't sell it.

Well I'm sure not gonna sit here and argue, but go ahead use it, and be prepared to be dishing out some money for a lawyer :lol:.

Maybe take a screenshot of the image you bring up with google earth and use it as a texture?

Nah nah im just saying for the terms and conditions of using ge images i know how to put it into fs thanks anyway.
