Hey guys, been editing for a while, and this is my crack at some new FPS friendly water texture. Only edited one file, and had spectacular results. There was no BETA, so let me know if you had the same. Put on avsim so should be there soon.
FPS FRIENDLY WATER TEXTURES

Readme

Thanks for downloading Starbucks747's FPS friendly water textures for Microsoft's Flight Simulator X (10). Your water must be set to at least MID in order to see the replacement water textures. Starbucks747 is not responsible for you being an idiot, and not backing up you files. Have fun with your new sexy looking water...

It looks good man, I would try it but FSX doesn't like me so I uninstalled it. Even after SP1... *gasp*

Yea, I was accused of being grumpy earlier, so I had to lighten the mood. How's it work for you?

Glad it worked. If anyone else wants to give a go at making there own, just edit the original "oceanheight" file.

I have tryed many of water textures FPS-friendly replacements, and not once a single fps change, some were even worse. So i won't even try yours...don't mind...i'm just sceptical:) Anyway, i'm using X Graphics with much better looking water , so i'll stick with that.

I find that the water textures in FSX accually make me improve FPS wise when I get over water...what did you do to mod them?

Reduced the sharpness, but not pixelating them. Gaussian. As well as some other distortions.
