Well decided to do this tutorial because it took me months to find everything I need to plan flights. The hardcore simmers will already know about this, this is aimed at people who know how to use the fmc, but have problems planning realistic flights with SID and STAR incuding charts.
You should already know about http://flightaware.com/, it allows you to access real world flight plans in the USA. Go to this website, down the left you should see a nav item saying resources, click that. Then follow these few pictures.
Type in your departure and destination airports.
You can now see we have the flight planes listed, I always go for the top one, because it has been used the most.
Now in the example we will go look through the LOOP4 Departure, to review it and also to find out what runway we want to use, do the same for the STAR.
